Tips For Cleaning Convertible Tops

The most effective method to maintain the good condition of your convertible tops is by regular washing and cleaning. This maintenance task will remove dirt and contaminants that can damage your vinyl. Below are some easy steps to keep your tops appealing and shiny:

1. First, wet the convertible top completely. Use a wet sponge to spread the vinyl cleaner over the top.

2. If your convertible top is heavily soiled, let the cleaner sit for up to 15 minutes to help loosen the contaminants. You may also need to use a soft brush to gently scrub dirty spots. Clean the top throroughly.

3. To remove the stains completely, let the car rinse and make sure that all cleaner is gone.

4. Prepare your top protectant and shake it to completely mix the solution. Spray the protectant on a foam applicator. Apply the protectant to your convertible top using that applicator. When doing this, do not spray the protectant directly onto the convertible top to prevent getting an uneven look.

5. Let the protectant soak in for up to 3 to 5 minutes. Afterwards, take a clean towel to dry the area.

6. The good condition of convertible tops can be maintained by washing them at least once a month using a non-detergent-based car shampoo.
