How To Wax Your Car

Learning the right way of waxing a car is a pretty easy task. Not only does it protect your vehicle from harmful elements, it can also avoid corrosion caused by scratches and nicks. By following the simple waxing tips below every few months, you will surely protect your car's finish and keep it looking good.

1. For this task, you will need supplies such as sponge, car wax and lots of rags. Make sure that the wax you're using is non-abrasive for it can damage clear-coat and lacquer finishes. Select the nonabrasive wax type.

2. Start by washing your car thoroughly. Dry it up before waxing the desired area. Be sure to get the lower portions of the vehicle and make sure everything is clean. Wax your car in your garage or any cool, shady area. If you don't have a shady spot, wax one part at a time so the sun doesn't bake the wax onto your vehicle.

3. Dip a damp wax sponge into the car wax and gently rub it on the surface with a circular motion. Keep your sponge filled with the wax. Working on a section at a time, cover your car's entire surface. By the time you have finished, the wax will be ready to remove.

4. Take a soft cloth and start buffing the wax. Continuously change which part of the rag you are using, as a clean rag will do a much better job at buffing. Make sure that you have buffed all the surfaces of the vehicle. As a final procedure, use a clean cloth to polish the entire surface.
